My rant for today

Yep, my rant for today. Not going to be a regular thing but will try to.

My rant is towards on a local level but might very well fit into a local category for you as well. It's something that irritates the hell out of me, nosy people! In my neighborhood alone there are way too many people trying to get into other peoples business. For example, the roof on my current house sustained damage from a storm a couple months ago. We haven't been able to get right on it due to a thing called LIFE. So we put a huge heavy-duty tarp over the affected area. Sure as the sun rises our neighborhood low-life (name withheld) calls the city code enforcement and tells them some outlandish story about our roof. I can understand if it had been more than three months we had a tarp on it but it's only been two at the most and the tarp can't be seen from the street!

Now you know that this asshole had to go beyond regular circumstances to see our tarp. Since talking with the city code enforcement we have everything worked out but just the fact this prick called them is irritating enough. To help you understand my animosity towards this individual I will post a thread one day soon that will explain the long term harassment by this douche bag!

Thats one of them people that if they dont like the fact that something is wrong with you house or yard and you dont have the time to fix it yourself, why don't they offer to help or do the dam work themselves instead of being pricks.

LOL, my thoughts exactly. It will take literally pages to explain this guy and his antics.

Exactly the reason I cannot stand new developments and other neighborhods where they have "Associations" and there rules (not to mention association fees). The kind of places youd have your car ticketed or towed if you were to park on the grass....your grass...on your property!

The whole covenants thing is not what is used to be. BITD if someone had a problem they would most likely come to you to see if a resolution could be found. Now people call a number with the local municipality and report you. Then you have X amount of days to come into compliance of the violation.

Heres another short story about how great your neighbors can be.

Two summers ago I built a nice large deck for a friend of mine. It was out of the second floor and about 10 ft up. Well we didnt put risers in the stairs (back part of step that goes up and down). Turns out his association had some rule about that and he got turned in by neighbors. We had to pull every tread and install risers to keep him from being fined from them.

Sounds like some of the shart heads we have here in my current neighborhood. Not much longer and I'll be out in the county not having to worry with all this municipality crap!
